SPRING
Happy Spring, Everyone!
Now well I'll be!
There's a tumbleweed in the yard!
We started off the month with celebrating our senior's 18th birthday!
Don't worry, we're just cutting cake!
Next was our Fat Tuesday games and fun at lunch. They were troopers out in the rain.
Needless to say, the boys ended up having a better strategy
The students had to opportunity to experience the full military honors for a recently deceased parishioner.
"Taps"
Uniformed Military Personnel
The folding and presentation of the American flag
More fundraising for the School
Meaning more burritos
Our "Chopping" staff
And our cooks!
(They made their own paper hats)
The next week we added cinnamon rolls to the list of menu items for fundraising. They learned all about how yeast works and how not to kill it when baking.
"I didn't choose the bakers life, the bakers life chose me."
In the meantime, the weather has been pleasant so we've been working on our softball/baseball skills
The junior high and high school experienced art class with one of our talented parishioners
They enjoyed it immensely
We attended a Hillsdale convention in Cincinnati and after Sr. Maria Magdalena was able to visit with her twin brother, Michael, who she hasn't seen since she was a postulant. (Please keep him in your prayers)
The following day we had the Archery State tournament in Lansing
The Feast of St. Joseph went well with singing a High Mass and having breakfast with parishioners afterwards
Now, we couldn't attend one of the students birthday party so in order to make it up to him, we made a deal to make animal balloons instead. But that meant we had to learn how to do so...
It ended up working out just fine and they loved it
And now the paint saga... Long story short, we meant to get the school repainted when school got out and before we left for the summer, but it ended up that it's being painted now!!! And after four visits to Sherwin Williams, we have finally found suitable colors for the classrooms and hallways.
This blue was a no-go for the hallways but yes for Father and Sr. Maria Magdalena's rooms
